Saint-Nazaire and the Brière A destination that’s accessible to everyone

Every year, Saint-Nazaire signs the ‘Ville Handicap’ charter, committing to maximum accessibility for all visitors including those with limited mobility, non-French-speakers and families with children.

At Saint-Nazaire, we believe everyone should be able to come and enjoy a wonderful holiday.

EXPLORING THE LANDSCAPES  of the resort

In Saint-Nazaire

The seafront at Saint-Nazaire has been developed so that visitors can enjoy the entire 3km stretch. You can explore the town and all of Saint-Nazaire Bay from Place du Commando right up to Villès-Martin beach.

Make the most of Saint-Nazaire’s coastline

Two of our beaches have the Handiplage label. Beach-access mats for wheelchairs. In summer, lifeguards are on hand and can offer beach wheelchairs if you want to enjoy the sea.

The Brière Wetlands

The Natural Regional Park of Brière is an absolute must for nature-lovers.

The Belvédère de Rozé observation tower is 24 metres tall, offering panoramic views of the Brière wetlands. A periscope set up on the ground floor means that everyone can access these stunning 360° views.

Do  you fancy a trip in a flat-bottomed boat? In Rozé, Christophe Boisrobert welcomes visitors with limited mobility onto a traditional ‘chaland’ boat adapted for up to four wheelchairs, offering a safe and comfortable way to discover all the charms of the Brière wetlands.

ACCESSIBLE VISITS

All 4 must-see sites in Saint-Nazaire have been adapted to be partially or completely accessible for visitors with reduced mobility. We provide a range of facilities to enable disabled visitors to take advantage of these visits. The guided discovery cruises departing from Saint-Nazaire are also accessible to wheelchair users. In Saint-Nazaire and the Brière, families are always welcome. From walks to workshops to games, we can keep you entertained!

Travelling with young children can be complicated, and we aim to make it easier. That’s why in our visitor sites we offer a range of services especially for families, such as a bottle-warmer, a microwave and baby-changing station.
