  • The "Les Chaussées" walk in the Brière Regional Nature Park is an 8.8km loop starting from the Port de Rozé in the commune of Saint-Malo-de-Guersac.

  • This walk, which takes around 2 hours, can also be done by mountain bike or on horseback, and is an excellent way to discover the nature and wildlife of the Brière marshes.

    Before setting off, take in the breathtaking views over the whole of the Brière from the Rozé belvedere. This breathtaking panorama will give you an idea of the full beauty of the marshland you are about to discover.

You'll also be able to discover them in particular at the heart of one of France's largest bird sanctuaries, the Pierre Constant sanctuary, just a short walk from the start and finish point. As well as the wildlife, this walk also gives you the chance to discover the local heritage through the lock keeper's house and its locks, which feed the Brivet before flowing into the Loire.

    Your route will also take you along the large and small canals of the Brière, where you're sure to come across some of the marsh's inhabitants in their traditional flat-bottomed boats known as chalands.

    The "Les Chaussées" itinerary in the Brière Regional Nature Park is a not-to-be-missed experience for all nature lovers and hikers.
